China: At the beginning of June, the price of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate stabilized at around US$110/ton but was low. Due to overhaul, the company offers very few products and production is still decreasing. But demand is no exception, leading to a fundamental balance between market supply and demand. The manufacturer said that the increase in demand from domestic compound fertilizer manufacturers may push the price of ammonium sulfate to rise. As a result of a long-term agreement between the trader and Petrokomia Gresik of Indonesia, a trader is looking for a ship with 22,000 tons of ammonium sulphate in Qingdao from May 21st to 31st. Indagro reportedly obtained the second batch of Wuzhoufeng 50,000 tons of steel grade ammonium sulfate pellets, which were shipped in June. Recently, the price of steel grade ammonium sulfate particles has remained at fob 145-150 US dollars / ton. In the first half of 2018, many Chinese ammonium sulphate particles will be shipped to Myanmar. The price in the first quarter is 170 US dollars / ton cfr Yangon, equivalent to fob China 147-150 US dollars / ton.
India: Agrifield sold 25,000 tons of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulphate to GSFC at a price of around US$130/ton cfr Kakinada. This source has not been confirmed, but it is expected to be South Korea.
Philippines: Swire is still looking for 12,000 tons of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate sent to Davao in June, but traders are trying to meet the buyer’s price target at around $130/ton cfr. Estimated shipping costs from China exceed $22/ton. According to market reports, a different importer is looking for 7,000 tons of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate for immediate shipment to Batangas and Bacolod.
Indonesia: 7,000 tons of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate was found in public and sent to Dumai in time. The estimated shipping cost from China is around $20/ton.
Sri Lanka: A trader sold a small batch of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulphate to buyers including CIC and hayley at a price of around $150/ton in cfr, including 180 days of credit. The batch of ammonium sulphate will be shipped in June.
Brazil: China’s standard ammonium sulfate price continues at cfr 140-143 US dollars / ton, Europe’s price at cfr 140-145 US dollars / ton.
Colombia: A tender is scheduled to ship 10,000 tons of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulphate and 4,000 tons of granular ammonium sulphate in June.
Central America: In mid-May, Trammo was sent from Nanjing, China, to a ship in Pto Quetzal, Acajutla and La Union, containing 3.4-3.5 million tons of ammonium sulphate and other fertilizers, with a freight rate of $22/ton.
