Guatemala: Incofe’s purchase of ammonium sulphate and phosphate in March was won by fi rm Nitron. It purchased 28,000 tons of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate (two-stage) and 5,000 tons of extruded granular ammonium sulfate, shipped from China to the 5,000-ton class 16-20-0+S, and possibly 20-20-0, shipped to Guatemala’s Pto Quetzal. The goods are expected to be shipped from March 1-10. The price of caprolactam is between the high of $120/ton cfr and the low of $130/ton cfr, and the granular price is between $160/ton cfr. The freight rate from China is estimated to be $20/ton.
Turkey: Gemlik’s order is 15,000 tons shipped to Turkey in March, and there is currently a freight inquiry from Northern Europe. European caprolactam grade ammonium sulfate is priced at $150/ton cfr.
Mexico: It is reported that Samsung has sold about 70,000 tons of Korean domestic ammonium sulfate, which will be shipped to Mexico in March and April, including a cargo ship that is transported to the East Coast. The FOB price of the East Coast port is US$153-154/ton, the West Coast is US$10/ton, and the FOB price in Korea is US$120/ton. LANXESS shipped the cargo from Antwerp to the East Coast port for more than $150/ton cfr. Eurochem will work with NPKs to ship 5000-6,000 tons from Europe. Samsung is selling a vessel on the market that will carry 3.3-3.8 million tons of ammonium sulphate in Ulsan from March 4th to 7th, to Manzanillo/Lazaro Cardenas on the west coast or Veracruz and Altamira on the east coast.
India: Smartchem (STL) bid for 1.5-200,000 tons of caprolactam on February 15 and shipped it to the west coast of India by March 25. The company received 4-5 ers orders with prices ranging from $135-140/ton cfr, but the target price was below $130/ton cfr. This is equivalent to China’s FOB price of about $105/ton, and delivery will not work in early March. The deadline is February 22.
China: The price of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulphate shipments in March is still $110-112/ton fob, and one manufacturer’s target price of 15,000 tons of caprolactam produced in Zhangjiagang is $112/ton. Traders’ sales in Latin America and Indian inquiries are lower, but producers are currently reluctant to let prices far below the FOB price of $100 per ton. The FOB price of granular ammonium sulfate is $150-155/ton.
Philippines: Universal Harvester is looking for 6,000 tons of internal grade ammonium sulphate. The price of Chinese sellers is around $140/ton. The order has not been reached yet.
Malaysia: China’s 12,000 tons of MMA grade ammonium sulphate cargo was sold at a high price of $110/ton cfr.
Pakistan: It is reported that 10,000 tons of internal ammonium sulphate is sold in FOB Ningbo bags at $124/ton and will be shipped in containers.
Europe: In March, the supply of granular urea in northwestern Europe was tight. Our G2 and G3 grades were sold out in April. The final price is €192 / t cif inland and € 215 / t cif inland. Fertilore has a portion of China’s granular urea that arrived in France in March but has sold out. Ameropa has been inspecting the freight charges for the 25,000 tons of ammonium sulphate freighter loaded in Longkou, China, from March 1st to 10th, to La Pallice, France. There are also inquiries from domestic and other grades of ammonium sulphate. The standard grade ammonium sulphate price is between 122-142 US dollars / ton at Antwerp FOB, the lower price reflects the decline in European urea prices.
