India: Smartchem Technologies (STL) will tender for 1.5-1 million tons of internal ammonium sulphate on February 15. The offer is valid until February 22 and the goods will be shipped to the west coast of India.

Malaysia: It is reported that Behn Meyer wants 25,000 tons of MMA grade ammonium sulphate and ammonium chloride to be shipped in March. The MMA grade is quoted at the low level of $120/ton cfr.

Philippines: The buyer purchased 6,000 tons of internal ammonium sulphate in the freight market and prepared to ship to Batangas.

China: After the Chinese New Year holiday, the Chinese market began to recover. The price of the internal grade ammonium sulfate is 110-113 US dollars / ton, and some manufacturers quoted 114 / ton fob. Traders reported a firm report of $110-111/ton fob this week. Most of the Chinese dealers have not entered the market yet, and there are not many Southeast Asian manufacturers this week.

Russia: According to GTT data, Russian ammonium sulphate exports fell from 531,000 tons in 2018 to 374,000 tons, nearly one-third less than in 2017. The main reason for the decline in exports was the sharp decline in Ukrainian exports, which fell from 233,000 tons after the sanctions imposed on Russian fertilizer producers in 2017 to only 52,000 tons, a drop of 78%. Russia’s exports to Turkey in 2018 are five times that of Ukraine, reaching 70,000 tons, and in 2017 it was only 14,000 tons.

Europe/Baltic/Black Sea: Demand in Europe continues to be weak, and spot supply in February and March remains relatively tight. The standard grades are indicated at 120 – 122 Euro / ton and the medium high 130 US dollars / ton fob Northwest Europe. The export prices of Russian producers supplying Baltic or Black Sea ports to the local market are still very low. The offshore price of black sea has been FOB 140-143 USD/ton, and the price on the Baltic Sea is 138-143 USD/ton.

Turkey: Turkey’s demand for ammonium sulphate has increased. Buyers in the South demand shipments in March, with a quantity of 80,000-100,000 tons. The buyer bids at a low level of $140/ton cfr, which is equivalent to a Chinese FOB price of $100-105/ton. The most recent Chinese internal quoted price was $150/ton cfr.

Mexico: This week, the market has increased interest in buying products, and the demand in March/April is between 6 and 85,000 tons. Buyers are bidding at a low of $150/ton cfr, which is equivalent to a FOB price of $120/tonne. Due to the recent anti-dumping investigation of Chinese imports of NKs, buyers are looking for Korean sources of supply.

Brazil: Sales at the end of the season are still continuing. China’s extrusion grade products are priced between $180 and $185/ton cfr, and poor quality products are around $170/ton cfr. European sellers’ offers continue at $200-205/ton cfr. Due to the different suppliers, the price of the internal products is in the range of 140-148 US dollars / ton. As of the beginning of March, only 130,000 tons of ammonium sulfate will reach the Brazilian port. This is about half of the previous week. Except for one piece of goods from Belgium, all of them are from China.
