Export situation

In 2024, the cumulative total export volume of various fertilizers (under customs code 31) in China was 30.51 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.2%. The cumulative export amount was 8.5 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 12.4%, and the average export unit price was 279 US dollars/ton, a year-on-year decrease of 12.2%. Among the major fertilizer export markets, Brazil, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, and Australia are the top five markets for China's fertilizer exports throughout the year. Among the main export varieties, the export of diammonium phosphate was 4.56 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.4%; The export of ammonium phosphate was 2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.5%; Ammonium sulfate exports amounted to 17.12 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 24.4%; Urea exports amounted to 262000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 94.1%; The export of heavy calcium reached 2.17 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 26.7%.

In December, the export volume of various fertilizers in China was 2.74 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 23.0%. The export amount was 680 million US dollars, a

year-on-year decrease of 0.9%, and the average export unit price in December was 250 US

dollars/ton.

Import situation

In 2024, the cumulative import volume of various fertilizers in China reached 14.26 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.6%, with a cumulative import amount of 4.6 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 17.8%, and an average import unit price of 323.6 yuan/ton, a year-on-year decrease of 23.6%. Among the major fertilizer import markets, Russia, Belarus, Canada, Laos, and Norway are the top five source countries for China's annual fertilizer imports. Among the main imported varieties, potassium chloride imported 12.63 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%; The import of ternary compound fertilizer was 1.23 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%.

In December, the import quantity of various fertilizers in China was 1.51 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%. The import amount was 440 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 7.1%, and the average import unit price in December was 292 US dollars/ton.
