China’s supply of ammonium sulphate in July and August is tight, and manufacturers’ quotations are still continuing to rise. Brazil has not yet fully started buying, and Turkish buyers are not willing to buy in the off-season.
Northwestern Europe: The price of ammonium sulphate in Northwest Europe is still strong. Producers are reluctant to quote long-term market prices, as ammonium sulfate prices may also be higher if the market environment continues to tighten and urea prices rise. Netbacks maintains a standard ammonium sulfate price stable at $125-$135/ton fob in Western Europe, with granular ammonium sulfate prices at $157-168/t fob northwest.
Russia: Export supply remained tight in July and August due to various equipment overhauls and good domestic demand. This week, traders have sold 6,000 tons of steel grade ammonium sulphate from Kherson to Turkey.
Turkey: Recently, the price of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate in China is at a low price of US$140/ton cfr, with no customs duties. According to reports, two large buyers purchased 50,000-60,000 tons of Chinese caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate, which was shipped in the second half of July. Two traders sold 6,000 tons of steel grade ammonium sulphate and shipped from the Black Sea in July.
China: A large supply of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulphate is still tight this week. The trader’s bid price is $115/ton fob, but this is unlikely because the manufacturer’s offer is at more than $116/ton. China’s ammonium sulphate supply was very tight in July, with some supplies in August. In particular, coking grade ammonium sulfate, due to increased demand from extrusion granule manufacturers, environmental protection is more stringent and autumn fertilizer production. Traders expect stocks to increase in August. The Jiangsu Haili Caprolactam Plant is still in production, with a capacity of 300,000 tons/year. It has been closed for about 4-6 weeks and the time for resumption is undecided. Its Shandong plant has an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons and is currently operating at 100%. The supply was sold out in July and limited supply in August. According to reports, the ex-factory price of domestic steel grade ammonium sulfate is 640 yuan / ton (96 US dollars / ton), higher than 610 yuan / ton a week ago. The price of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate is 760 yuan / ton (114 US dollars / ton), higher than 650 yuan / ton a week ago.
Fiji: The tender price of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate this week is $170/ton.
Indonesia: It is reported that a trader sold 20,000 tons of Chinese caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate at a price of US$135-137/ton CFR Belawan and shipped it in July.
Philippines: Swire is said to have purchased 12,000 tons of Chinese caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate from Golden Barley at a price of $ 141/tonne, and unloaded ships in Davao and Subic Bay. The price of arriving in the Philippines in mid-July was $136/ton.
South Korea: Capro Corp currently has no supply. It continued to build inventories until the government sent further notice of the delivery of fertilizer to North Korea.
Vietnam: It is reported that the container price of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate in Vietnam is US$130/ton CFR.
Brazil: The Brazilian market is preparing for the peak season purchases starting next month. Next week there will be a single 37,000 tons of granular ammonium sulphate and standard ammonium sulphate to Antwerp, Brazil. Caprolactam grade ammonium sulfate is quoted at $148-155/ton CFR. The mainstream price of China’s extruded granular ammonium sulfate is US$180/ton CFR, and the price of European granular ammonium sulfate is US$192-195/ton CFR.
Mexico: Importers are looking for ammonium sulfate and urea for shipment in August. The 8,000 tons of ammonium sulphate was recently quoted at $160/tonne CFR and shipped with urea from the Baltic Sea.
