SA – Ammonium Sulphate

SA – Ammonium Sulphate

21N + 24S ( 60 SO3)

AS-StandardAmmonium sulphate produced by OCIAgro contains ammonia nitrogen and soluble sulphur. Nitrogen is presented entirely as ammonia, thus reducing leaching during wet periods. It is a commonly used fertilizer in agriculture for soils with sulphur demand, for example in crops of forage plants or potatoes. Both in Southern Europe and in other countries, ammonium sulphate is often used in citrus crops, coffee, rice, tea, bananas, pineapple, sugar beets or soybeans. It is a fertilizer that can be used as main component in the process of fertilizing and / or blending. NICagro provides two ranges of products whose main difference is the grain size, having granular crystalline ammonium sulphate and ammonium sulphate. The crystalline variety is formed by the SA Crystalline and SA standard; while the range of the granular product is formed by SA-granular (3), SA-granular (2) and SA-granular (2S). For further details, please refer to product specification sheets on our website. The granule size determines the specific characteristics of spreading as well as the applications possibilities. It is important to adjust the spreader for the correct settings.

Ammonium Sulphate fertilizer is characterized by its fast acting “application-results”. Although crops can absorb ammonia nitrogen directly, the highest part of absorption will occur at the time ammonia is converted into nitric nitrogen because of the reactions with the soil; being both soil temperature and humidity, factors that set the pace and speed of the conversion. It is important to note that ammonia nitrogen gets its process of leaching-volatilization slowed when combined with other soil particles such as clay minerals and organic matter.
