The bullish atmosphere in the ammonium sulphate market is still strong, as the FOB prices of all major exporters are rising. This week’s event was relatively calm after the IFA meeting. Some Turkish buyers are already involved in the market to ensure that trading volume, while others are still waiting to see if prices will fall. Seasonal purchases in Brazil are low, but are expected to resume in August.

Northwestern Europe: With the higher prices of urea and nitrates in Europe and around the world, ammonium sulphate prices have risen. This week’s Western European standard grade ammonium sulfate price is FOB 125-135 US dollars / ton. The price of granular ammonium sulfate also rose to 157-168 US dollars / ton FOB Northwest Europe, the highest price in the market is Brazil, the low end is Mexico and Europe. According to the Benelux distributor, 3mm ammonium sulphate is shipped at a price of 190 euros/ton to inland ($220/ton), which is higher than the previous price of 178-182 euros/ton, depending on the destination. And quantity. EuroChem is expected to release a new July price for standard ammonium sulfate.

Russia/Belarus: The price of Brazilian caprolactam-grade ammonium sulphate has risen along with sales, and the price of ammonium sulphate entering Turkey in the Black Sea and the Baltic region has risen to US$120-124/ton, an increase of US$5/ton. At the IFA meeting last week, the intent price of the goods in July was the offshore price of the Black Sea at $118/ton, and the quotation has been confirmed. Kherson steel grade ammonium sulphate remains in a light trading state, with only a small amount of goods being sold to Turkey and Ukraine each month. The price difference from caprolactam grade ammonium sulfate is 10-15 US dollars / ton.

Turkey: Turkey’s ammonium sulphate buyers are concerned that the price of nitrogen fertilizer has risen in July/August in the traditional off-season. As urea rises every day due to strong demand and tight supply, it seems unlikely that price corrections will occur in the near future. There are rumors that a single 40,000 tons (+/- 10%) of Chinese caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate was sold to one of Turkey’s largest buyers last week and will be shipped in late July. The freight rate of 30,000 tons of goods from China to Turkey is estimated to be 27-29 US dollars / ton, then traders will need to pay 145-146 US dollars / ton cfr unpaid tariff or 155 US dollars / ton cfr tax. The buyer’s intention price is below $140/ton (unpaid duty). In mid-July, a 30,000-ton caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate and steel-grade ammonium sulfate mix was shipped to the Turkish market at a FOB price of US$116 per barrel and will be shipped in northern China. But there is no sales report. The last sale of steel grade ammonium sulphate in the Kherson area was completed earlier this month at a price of $130/ton, including credit. According to the terms of freight and credit, this will result in a net profit of $96-100/ton FOB.

China: It is said that under the pressure of environmental protection, the operating rate of the manufacturers is low, the output of ammonium sulfate is declining, and the demand exceeds the supply. This week, many major Chinese producers have raised their prices to around $117/ton. China’s domestic market sales price is FOB115-116 USD/ton. It is said that last week, Samsung has ordered 15,000 tons of ammonium sulphate and other fertilizers from Latin America at a price of about US$115/tonne FOB. A total of 30,000 tons of ammonium sulfate in two grades was supplied to Turkey at a price of US$116/tonne FOB. But buying is still not high.

India: FACT received a bid of 25,000 tons of ammonium sulphate delayed from June 18 to June 20 as follows: AgriFields $144/ton cfr Korea; Aries $138.97/ton cfr China; Midgulf $141.5/ton cfr China . China’s ammonium sulphate is subject to a 5% import tax in India, so Agrifield’s offer is the lowest based on Korea’s tax-free agriculture or agricultural products. But FACT did not decide to buy.

South Korea: It is said that the Korean fertilizer company has completed a tender on June 26, and will deliver 4,000 tons of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate at the end of August. The price is in the range of $115-116/ton FOB. China’s shipping costs are between $12 and $14/ton, which is equivalent to $127-128/tonne CFR.

Brazil: The combination of truck strikes, logistical problems and the World Cup has put the market temporarily at a standstill. Brazilian buyers are expected to re-enter the market in August. Due to tight supply and strong global demand for nitrogen products, the Brazilian standard ammonium sulfate price has risen to 150-155 US dollars / ton CFR, and the granular ammonium sulfate price is 185-192 US dollars / ton CFR. It is said that Samsung sold 50,000 tons of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate to Brazil last week.
