3.22-3.29 International market dynamics (from foreign sources)

Russia: Kuaz will transport 3,000 tons of standard ammonium sulphate from Ust Donetsk in April at a price of $133-135/tonne FOB per ton. The last time was in January and March of this year, when 3,000 tons of goods were also at this price level. Russia will begin the sailing season of the river on April 1.

China: China’s domestic demand and exports remained calm before the expected buying interest in the second quarter rebounded, with spot prices remaining at $113-118/tonne FOB. From March 28th to April 7th, there was a single shipment of Ningbo to Gresik with 22,000 tons. China’s exports were lower in February this year, reflecting a slow start this year. The export volume in February was 355,000 tons, down 28% year-on-year. At the beginning of this year, after strong buying, demand in Turkey slowed sharply. This month, about 35,000 tons of goods were shipped from China, and buyers reported it for most of the first quarter. Indonesia and Vietnam were each about 55,000 tons in February. Brazil also withdrew from the market in the first quarter, with sales falling more than 50% to 52,000 tons in February. Year-to-date exports have fallen by nearly 6% to 870,000 tons. Although China officially announced that from February this year, China will no longer accept export inspection and quarantine to simplify the export process, but China’s exports have slowed down.

South Korea: Domestic demand is attracting production in South Korea. The goods are shipped to Mexico in May, and the next shipment is expected to be shipped in June. The producer’s target is 125-130 USD/ton FOB.

Brazil: Brazil’s pellet prices and standard prices have remained stable, with extruded pellets priced at around $175/tonne CFR and European pellets at $190/tonne CFR.

Central America: Incofe requested a combination of fertilizers and trace elements on April 2nd and shipped to Corinto, Nicaragua, Caldera, Costa Rica and Buenaventura of Colombia in the second half of May. This requirement includes 8,900 tons of granular ammonium sulphate and 6,600 ton of caprolactam grade ammonium sulphate plus DAP and a small amount of 12-14 other products. Suppliers can choose to supply 27,000 tons or 40,000 tons of goods. Incofe will also hold a tender on April 4 to purchase 14,000 tons of urea, 6,350 tons and 7,000 tons of DAP or 6,500 tons of MOP for shipment to Pto Cortes, Honduras and Santo Tomas in Guatemala in early May.

Mexico: In May of this year, Tepeyac/GF Trading will load about 20,000 tons of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulphate in Ulsan, South Korea, combined with China’s 10,000 tons of soluble fertilizer, to the west coast of Mexico. The price of ammonium sulfate is reported to be around $130/ton. An East Coast buyer tendered on March 28 to ship 18,000 tons of standard ammonium sulfate in April.
